Ray Armstrong Nomination Sent to Boise County Commissioners (update posted 07/28/26)
Boise County Republican Central Committee received one application for the Prosecuting Attorney position and was pleased to send Raymond S. Armstrong’s name to the Boise County Commissioners for consideration.
Mr. Armstrong currently is Deputy Prosecuting Attorney with the Boise County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in Idaho City, Idaho. Admitted to the California State Bar in 1988 (Bar #138733) and the Idaho State Bar in 2026, he holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California and a J.D. from Western State University College of Law. He previously served as a Senior Deputy District Attorney in the Orange County District Attorney’s Office (Special Prosecutions Unit), handling jury trials, domestic violence, stalking, public integrity, and open-meetings matters before joining Boise County in early 2026.
Boise County is seeking a new Prosecuting Attorney, as current prosecutor Alex Sosa is moving to another Idaho county. By law (Idaho Code § 59-906), Boise County Republican Central Committee (BCRCC) Precinct Committeemen (PCs) may nominate three replacement candidates and submit their names and resumes to Boise County Commissioners.
Each candidate must be a licensed Idaho attorney, 21 years or older, a qualified elector, and live in Boise County per Idaho Code Title 31 Counties and Law, Chapter 26 Prosecuting Attorney.
All candidates will be interviewed by BCRCC PCs before three names are selected and submitted timely to the Boise County Commissioners.
