Our 2026 Lincoln Dinner was the most successful in Boise County history. We literally rocked the house in Idaho City with Republican enthusiasm. Thank you to all who helped make this event the grand gathering of Republicans that it was!

Boise County Republicans celebrated America’s 250th birthday at their annual Lincoln dinner on Saturday, April 11, 2026. The Idaho City Community Building was packed with Republicans from Boise County and other surrounding Idaho counties.
Thank you to those who contributed to this event and to all current members of the Idaho Republican Central Committee. Some gave all to make the event happen and all are appreciated. Chair Jean Mollenkopf Moore, Vice Chair Susie Alvord, Secretary Keith Olson, Treasurer Steve Moore, State Committeewoman Thelma Medina, State Committeeman Steve Moore, and State Youth Matt Mills; PC30 Garden Valley Bill Baker; PC40 Horseshoe Bend Cliff Ohler; PC50 Idaho City Roger Jackson; PC60 Lowman Marla Lawson; PC70 Mores Creek Josh Thornton; PC80 Centerville, Placerville, Star Ranch -Brian Davies.
The Lincoln celebration of 250 years as a Republic started with music at 4:30 p.m. performed by the amazing Carter Junction, a duo from Lemhi County. Clint and Sarah Carter brought their three young sons with them and as young patriotic Americans they enjoyed the evening too.
Welcome was by Jean Mollenkopf Moore. Invocation was by Jeff Diehl. Posting of the colors was by Sons of Erin. Pledge of Allegiance was led by Pete Scarborough and National Anthem was performed by Carter Junction’s Sarah Carter and Clint Carter.
Steve Moore, IDGOP State Committeeman, and Chair of the Lincoln dinner, again outdid himself with an authentic Santa Maria Style Tri Tip bbq over red oak firewood. Tables were decorated in red, white and blue with replica cowboy boots as centerpieces and patriotic flags everywhere in celebration of 250 years of history as a Constitutional Republic. There was a licensed beer/wine bar with Scott Thomas at the helm.
The room was filled with excitement as Republicans reunited for a fun filled evening of candidate introductions, silent auctions, live auctions, and prize drawings. Idaho City’s own Trudy Jackson volunteered as the live auctioneer for 2 quilts, a handgun, and one of her world famous huckleberry cheesecakes. An American Eagle quilt was made and donated by Brian Davies’ talented wife Karrie Davies and a Founding Fathers quilt was donated by a wonderful friend of Boise County, Jorjette Bostrom. What a great job these ladies do!
Republicans donated a variety of amazing desserts for the now traditional dessert dash as each table competed for the dessert of their choice.
IDGOP Chair Dorothy Moon inspired the group with enthusiastic updates on progress in Idaho with the Republican party. Dorothy previously represented Boise County in the state legislature as District 8’s representative, seat A. She is the only woman to hold the position of IDGOP Chairwoman for two consecutive terms. She drives throughout Idaho for Republican events, works at the IDGOP downtown office or flies out of state for meetings with the RNC and receives no compensation for hours worked. Chairwoman Dorothy Moon continues to do an amazing job for Idaho and is considered rightfully by many to be Republican royalty. Dorothy served as the live auctioneer for Metals donated by Money Metals to the Republican party.
The night’s keynote speaker was Mark Fitzpatrick, Idaho’s conservative Republican Christian candidate for Governor. His common sense approach to government impressed those in attendance. He pledged to be a populist governor as that’s what healthy government looks like with citizens deeply involved. We can simplify; cut spending and lower taxes. He will keep pushing until government is as small and efficient as possible and shift suitable services to the private sector. Private competition usually does the job better and cheaper. People keep more of their own money and choose what they need instead of having it taken and spent for them. Many representatives answer to outside powers through money, blackmail or control rather than to the people who elected them. Mark Fitzpatrick pledges to be the opposite of Governor Little. Lots of money flows for programs and giveaways. Current Governor Little gets little challenge from local media and refuses to meet directly with the people. Someone must replace him. Mark Fitzpatrick for Governor is a very real option.
A sincere thank you goes to everyone for your contributions to the Boise County Republican Party.
